Goddard radio interferometry testbed

Public

In this project, we constructed the Goddard Radio Interferometry Testbed (GRIT), an experimental model for the Synthesis Imaging Radiometer (SIR). We created a central control interface for the antennas, receivers, X-Y positioner, and post-processing units that comprise GRIT. By moving a pair of antennas in formation across a noisy scene, we generated images of the sources present in the test environment. The theories explored experimentally using GRIT contribute to the development of next-generation microwave passive remote sensing instrument like SIR.
