Organic outgassing in NASA's JSC Genesis clean rooms

Public

The Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, is faced with a contamination issue in their two existing class 10 Genesis Mission clean rooms. Organics are being outgassed from materials in the room, and these organics must be eliminated so that the rooms may be used for future NASA programs. Current room materials were investigated and various outgas tests were performed to define the contaminants and their sources. Room modification recommendations were made to reduce the outgassing problem.
