Realistic weather radar simulator

Public

Working in conjunction with MIT Lincoln Laboratory, we designed and implemented an enhanced weather radar simulator capable of modeling more complex weather than previously possible. The weather radar simulator can be used to test new hazardous weather detection algorithms. After testing, these detection algorithms can be employed at airport terminals around the country to provide air traffic controllers with advanced warnings in order to reduce the number of unnecessary flight delays and airplane crashes caused by dangerous low altitude weather.
