The overall goal of this project was to identify and evaluate the remaining technical, procedural, and regulatory issues necessary to ensure the safe introduction of commercial transgenic fish aquaculture in the United States, especially for AquaBounty Technologies (ABT) AquAdvantage salmon (AAS). In order to achieve this goal, interviews were conducted with experts in the field and various stakeholders. The group compiled information from these interviews and background research to draw conclusions and make recommendations. We conclude that several key disagreements between ABT and consumer groups have likely resulted from miscommunications for resolving the disputes.
