The goal of this project was to support larger marsh restoration efforts at Mill Creek in Chelsea, Massachusetts, aiming to improve the Chelsea community. This improvement was achieved by studying flow patterns and designing potential solutions to enhance the native ecosystem, while also engaging the Chelsea community. Recognizing past errors in salt marsh management, our project seeks to address these issues. It engaged the community through community research, including surveys within the community and engineering design and recommendations aimed at better involving the community in restoration efforts at Mill Creek. These recommendations will facilitate the creation of sustainable development projects, such as rain gardens, which will benefit the future of the Chelsea community.
