Barriers Preventing an Equitable Uptake of Sustainable Energy Innovations in New Zealand
Public DepositedDespite its commitment to reducing carbon emissions, New Zealand exhibits low adoption rates of electric vehicles and residential solar systems. Recognizing a need for future policies to address this, our study aimed to delineate the barriers preventing an equitable uptake of residential energy innovations. We conducted a comprehensive survey and interviews across Greater Wellington. Based on our findings, we propose several strategic interventions including public awareness campaigns and strategic incentives to address the low rates of adoption.
